Each admission is based on the unique context of a person’s health and complications. The Department of Health have advised that some admissions for COVID-19 would fall within the “Lung and Chest” category.

If there are complications the admission may fall into a different category, however it is impossible to predict.

As Lung and Chest is a category of services that are excluded from the Bronze Essentials product, it may be unwise to assume that this level of cover will apply to an admission for COVID-19.
